Efficiency?

So I'm browsing TipIt and I read this question about grenwalls and using bonecrusher. [I know there are "better" things to spend tokens on.] One sentence left me gobsmacked:

So I've heard its worth smoking traps at grenwalls, but I don't see how its possible between casting fruitfall, dropping bones, setting up/tearing down traps, and baiting said traps to fit that in.

O.O

I've heard of the super efficiency training since Zarfot came out with getting 200M exp in every skill as fast as possible and mouse keying being semi-legal. I know about firemaking backwards and tipping bolts while woodcutting/fishing/slaying. but J. Guthix Manderberry. Are people honestly and truly missing uber amounts of experience that they have to squeeze in 4 different activities in 2 seconds?

  1. Smoking the traps doesn't even work. Neither does wearing camo. lol

  2. I find that to be crazy and tends to detract from the game when people have to be so efficient that if they can't multitask and get the max possible exp in such a short amount of time... its a game not a job people...

  3. I think its surprising how much you can achieve if you always feel like your racing the clock. If I can save upwards of 100hours by superheat mining rather than smelting and mining separate I think you'd be stupid not to save the time and be efficient.

  4. You could further break it down to individual clicks and mouse movements and end up with a 200-word description of an activity that takes five seconds.

    Example:
To write this post, first I clicked on the "Comment as" dropdown menu to select my Google Account. Then I clicked on the text box to input my text. Then I moved my finger onto the "Y" key, held down "Shift," and twitched my finger muscles to press the key, then released the "Shift" key. After that, with my other hand, I moved another finger up to the "O" key and pressed it. Then I stretched out an adjacent finger slightly to reach the "U" key...

See, I'm not even past the third letter, and it already looks like you should be astonished that I'm so devoted to disseminating my opinion over the internet that I'm willing to cram all of that effort into a fraction of a second.

Point is, I think you're totally off-base here. You're not automatically hyper-efficient just because you pay attention to the screen as opposed to chopping ivy and killing bandits all day long. This isn't some Zarfot-esque overachieving; it's just how hunter works. If you want to catch grenwalls, you have to set up traps, bait them, pick them up when they're sprung, fruitfall when you run out of bait, and drop bones when your inventory is full--just like when you train summoning, you need to collect charms, collect secondary ingredients, buy spirit shards, run them to a summoning obelisk, select the pouch you want to make, click "Make-All", run back to the bank, and repeat. Why is a simple list of the steps for completing an activity so O.O inducing?

  5. Actually, I don't take a fruitbat with me to grenwalls. I get the papaya/pawya meat before and teleport back to Lletya when my inventory is full.

It's not "a simple list" that induced the wow factor. It's the "it has to get done while I'm waiting for traps to catch something" mentality. I'm busy enough resetting and rebaiting traps before another gets sprung. I don't get time to cast fruitfall and I'm sure others don't either.
